The Sponsored Research Industrial Consultancy and Continuing Education (SRIC&CE) of IIITDM Kancheepuram look after all the sponsored research activities. A full-fledged office operating under Dean (SRIC&CE) provides administrative and accounting support to the faculty undertaking sponsored research and consultancy work.

Starting from project submission, project management including accounting, recruitment of research personnel, interactions with the funding agency, protection of IPR, and technology transfer. Additionally, SRIC plays a vital role in the initiation of new research initiatives of the Institute and the implementation of various national initiatives.

IIITDM Kancheepuram has initiated an Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research Cell (ICSR) to motivate the faculty to conduct research through funded projects and consultancy work. This will fulfil the aim of the MoE, Government of India, to increase emphasis on the self-sufficiency of the institute. The institute has already attracted funded projects from government agencies and industrial consultancy work from esteemed organisations and many other projects are in pipeline. The expert faculty of the institute cater to the needs of automotive, electronic, ITES and other engineering industries in the design and development of innovative products. The Design Studio of the Institute consists of advanced modelling, analysis and simulation software and functioning in collaboration with the industry.
